Auntie Jo was the first person we met when our family moved to the Grand Coulee Dam area. It was Sunday and on our way home from the Baptist Church in Electric City, our Dad stopped at the Ayers home so we could meet Auntie Joe. She greeted us with such warmth and we felt right at home with her welcoming smile! Her daughter Alice was there as well, preparing for her upcoming wedding. I remember her showing us her wedding dress. We were treated like family from that day on. Auntie Joe was truly the treasure of Coulee Dam and she impacted so many people's lives in so many ways. I know she did our family! What an amazing woman. I don't think there was anything she couldn't do that she set her mind to. An open, honest, and loving woman.
